Given near-godlike speed, you’ll rip through a space station under alien attack. Godspeed is a high-speed first-person action shooter where movement itself becomes your combo system.

Interview:
✧ In one or two sentences, describe the main themes present in your game.
Defeat enemies by chaining movement into combat combos, and experience the fluidity and exhilaration of high speed.
✧ What was the inspiration of the game? What made your team decide to make this game specifically?
We wanted to create an FPS where movement becomes a core offensive tool in combat, rather than something primarily used to evade or distance yourself from enemies like in most shooters. In terms of combat design, the project was heavily inspired by Ninja Gaiden 2, while the visual direction draws strong influence from Marathon and Mirror's Edge.
✧ What were some of your most memorable moments from making this game? What did you learn from those moments?
The moments when we struggle endlessly to find a solution often become the most memorable. They are some of the most painful parts of making games, but also part of what makes the final result feel truly worthwhile.
✧ Talk about your teammates! What was everyone's role?
Bruce was responsible for game design, level design, enemy design, programming, and a small portion of the 3D modeling. Fangling focused on programming, tech art, and 3D art. Most of the design decisions and development work were discussed and decided collaboratively. Fangling consistently produced incredibly strong work throughout the project and showed a remarkable level of talent.
